The Chouteau County Clerk and Recorder is an elected official who provides the
primary administrative function for recording and maintaining the majority of all the legal
documents relating to real estate records, land descriptions, county birth and death
records and the records of the Board of County Commissioners.
In Chouteau County the County Clerk and Recorder is also tasked as the Election
Administrator. They oversee all aspects of the primary, local, and general elections. This
is also the office where voters go to register to vote.
